The AIDS Pandemic has left behind an estimated 15 million orphans, of which 80% live in sub-Sahara Africa. According to UNAIDS the number of children orphaned by AIDS will rise dramatically in the next 10-20 years especially in southern Africa.
Salama is a Swahili word which means safe. The purpose of the Salama project is to build a safe environment for children who have been left orphaned due to AIDS. Our current project includes building a state of the art Children's Care Center outside the city of Tabora in Tanzania.
